Since we launched InstaScaler we went through what it can be used for, and how it can help your business. But in this blog post we dive into the ad tech behind it. So take a deep breath and let’s dive in!
Everyone knows that the king of advertising is Google. One of the greatest innovations that Google made was AdSense. It allowed them to expand their reach by placing their ad tech into millions of websites across the world. The way AdSense works is that Google tries to analyze the content of the webpage it’s installed on. Then it displays relevant ads to the content of the page such as the example below.
This gave millions of website owners and publishers the opportunity to make money out of their websites. By placing the Google AdSense bars on their pages. Then they receive a commission by Google on every click that happens to one of those ads by their visitors. This also gave Google a way to monetize non-Google visitors. So if you visit any website that has AdSense, Google still makes money if you click on one of those ads.
Obviously, the advertisers were happy because their ads are being displayed in relevant contexts (hence the term “Contextual Advertising“). Which meant the click through ratios were higher. For example, if a reader sees a dog grooming ad on a pet owner blog, the chances of him clicking it would be much higher than if he sees this ad on a soccer news portal.
So it was a win-win-win for all 3 parties involved (Advertiser, publisher, visitor). And this is brilliant for many industries, however for some other industries such as retail it has some limitations.
As Google AdSense cannot promote specific products. It can promote the website selling those products perhaps, but not a specific product because that’s not what it was built for.
This is a disadvantage for the advertiser and the visitor for two reasons:
- As an advertiser (especially a retailer): I would like my products to be advertised to people who want to buy them. I am not interested to just promote my website and then hope users will come, search, and then buy the product.
- As a visitor: If I am reading an article about a new perfume that has been released on a men’s fashion online magazine (maybe it’s a bad example because that’s something I never do :)), I would like to see ads which tell me where to buy this perfume online and how much it costs.
Introducing InstaScaler Automated Ads
InstaScaler is the world’s first automated advertising platform. Which means we automate all the advertising and traffic acquisition process, helping startups and small businesses to get laser targeted and high quality visitors to their websites automatically everyday!
So we thought there is something we can do to solve the problems I mentioned above. And it turns out we can!
Today we’re proud to say that we developed a unique ad tech. When placed on any website, it can analyze the page’s content and display certain products related to this content. When a user clicks on any of these product ads, he goes directly to the product page where he can checkout and buy this product.
This obviously works best for webpages which are talking about specific certain products as the example below.
This provides value in the following ways:
1) As an advertiser: The whole world is now your affiliate (well technically not the whole world, but just for now the ones who have our ad tech on their websites), and your products are advertised in extremely relevant contexts. Which means much higher CTRs and conversions.
2) As a visitor: I can see where I can buy the products mentioned in the page I am on immediately. Which provides significant value and convenience for the visitor.
We are really excited about this as it’s potentially disruptive to the entire marketing industry. Especially when it comes to online advertising.
If you’re an advertiser and would like to get more info about this, please feel free to email us at hello[at]instascaler.com and we will fill you in on all the details.
